Robber Forgets to Pull Up His Mask

The service station robber forgot just one thing – to pull his bandanna over his face.

Police in Palmerston North today released camera footage of a man wanted for the aggravated robbery of a Mobil service station on Pioneer Highway in the city early last Wednesday morning.

The man, armed with an iron bar, demanded cash and cigarettes in full view of the security camera, then suddenly remembered to pull up his bandanna over his face.

“His method of operation suggests he is not security camera-savvy. . ..or maybe has not committed a lot of offences of this nature,” Detective Glen Jackson told 3 News. The man took cigarettes and cash from the till and filled his bag with tobacco and cigarettes before running off.
